During the Millennium Volunteers years volunteers always entered a float into Nuneaton Carnival.
After winning first place in the adult category in 2007, and Millennium Volunteers finishing in early 2008, the new reVOLve vinvolved project was unable to get a float together in time for the carnival in June 2008......
but it does look like the popular project will be back in 2009.......so look our for details.
In the run up to the event we run sessions so the young people can come up with a theme for their float, sort out the set to go on it, the music to be played and their costumes.
The volunteers stood proud on their carnival float as they were awarded first place for their hard work.
The 2007 float called "Once Upon A Time....." fitted into the overall theme of this years Nuneaton carnival: Fairy Tale and Fantasy.
The volunteers and staff were overjoyed when they were awarded first place.
Special thanks goes to Second Chance Furniture Re Use in Nuneaton who let us use their premises to hold meetings in. We were also grateful to Teagles transport who sorted out the truck, trailer, driver and marshals for us.

TROPHY TIME
Volunteers picked up a special trophy after coming first in the class A category in the Nuneaton Carnival.
They were invited to the town hall to a presentation in the council chambers where the trophy was presented to them by the Deputy Mayor. A cheque was also presented to their nominated charity, Second Chance Furniture Re Use based in Weddington, Nuneaton. The project was made possible thanks to money from the Youth Opportunity Fund, which the young people successfully applied for.
