Community Projects

We get involved in community projects. A community project is when our task force of regular volunteers offer their time to work with us to do things like gardening and painting projects for local community groups in Nuneaton and North Warwickshire.

Here's a look at some of the projects we have done in the past.

TAKE A BREAK, COLESHILL

During the May half term, a group of volunteers kick started our community projects programme for the summer.

They helped the charity Take A Break, who provide respite care for children and adults who have a disability and life threatening illness, get their back yard back.

It was overgrown and full of junk, so our volunteers helped give it a revamp by clearing it out.

We were very lucky with the weather and just missed the rain.

DRAYTON COURT, HARTSHILL

Volunteers joined forces with the Volunteer Centre North Warwickshire vcnw in November 2006 to do a project at Drayton Court sheltered accommodation.

BAXTERLEY POND

Back in the summer we went along to Baxterley Pond to help a man who opens up his farm to the public for the Wings and Wheels events.
The pond was in a bad way with overgrown weeds nearly suffocating the fish.
Millennium Volunteers came to the rescue with a big anchor to pull out the weed - they had to hold their noses, it was a bit smelly!
